Royal Adelaide Show Adelaide Showgrounds, Goodwood 7-15 September 2007 The Royal Adelaide Show is South Australia's biggest annual event run by the Royal Agricultural and Horticultural Society of South Australia. Experiences run the whole gamut from carnival rides, exhibitions and attractions to exquisite handicraft, cookery and wide variety of champion livestock and animals. It is at the Show that rural South Australia and City business alike can showcase their best produce, wares and services. Australasian Masters Games 5-14 October 2007 The Australasian Masters Games return to Adelaide in 2007 now incorporating the Australasian Masters Games. That's right! Australia's largest multisport festival just got bigger, taking it to the international stage. The Games are a biennial multisport festival providing an opportunity for people over the age of 30 years to participate in the sport(s) of their choice regardless of background or ability. Adelaide will again attract over 10,000 participants, who will take part in more than 50 team and individual sports over the ten day period. Over 2000 people are in the parade with another 700 behind the scenes. More than 320,000 people line the 3.35 kilometre route through the heart of Adelaide. 2007 marks the pageant's 75th anniversary; Hats off to 75 years of magic. Come along, celebrate and participate. | Adelaide Cup Carnival - Horse Racing Event to be held on 10 March 2008 Each year Adelaide comes alive with race fever for the Smoke Free Adelaide Cup Carnival. Staged at the Morphettville Racecourse. The carnival attracts both local and interstate visitors and racing identities, and also offers great food and fashion, and a tremendous atmosphere. The carnival reaches its peak on Monday May 21st with the running of the Smoke - Free Adelaide Cup, run on a locally recognised public holiday. | |||
